It’s a special week here at b small, as we publish the very first Young Language Learner Anthology!

This special collection of over 100 stories has been written by children aged between 6 and 12, who each penned a story around the theme of ‘Galaxy Adventure’. Stories were submitted in a language of their choice, other than a mother tongue, and could be either written as a story, an illustrated story or a comic.

For the past few years, we’ve hosted an annual language learning competition, called the Young Language Learner Award. Children submitted stories written in a language of their choice, and we chose three winners from the hundreds of entries we received.

YLLA was a fantastic competition and we had wonderful feedback from parents, teachers and children alike. BUT: there was one big problem! Children spent hours on their submissions, which had incredible illustrations and stories, and so much hard work poured into them… and we could only choose three winners!

So this year, we decided to shake things up and celebrate EVERYONE who enters – and share all the hard work that has gone into these stories with the world!

As ever, the standard of entries we received this year was very high, so it’s a joy and a privilege to be able to share all of them for the first time in this special collection. We received entries submitted in many different languages which many hours of work have gone into. We hope you enjoy reading them as much as we did!
